So,
originally I was prepping to do some big post about turning lemons into
lemonade. It would start out with something like, "it was the best of
times, it was the worst of times." Isn't that what happens after all
when your fun family vacation gets interrupted by sickness? As luck
would have it, Ryley and Thatcher became sick from the moment we pulled
into Orlando. You would think that would ruin a vacation, but we
returned home with one sentence repeating itself over and over again in
my mind... "our kids are awesome!" I've always felt this way of
course, but the way they pulled together, took care of each others
needs, and fully understood if someone had to go back out of sheer
exhaustion was amazing! I haven't even mentioned the part where I become
so ill on our drive home that for 48 hours my mental state was
questionable between the fever and chills that had overcome my body.
Once again, they jumped into "service" mode, took charge of any worry or
care, and a week later I am finally up and running. Was it a great
vacation? Yes. For me however, the memory I'll take away won't include a
specific ride or exhibit. It will be the love I witnessed from these sweet angels that surround me.
