We had the awesome opportunity to visit D.C. this last weekend.
Steven's baby sister and her husband just had the cutest little girl,
and since Mom and Dad Ballard were out for a visit they had her
blessing. It was so wonderful to be with them all. After
Susannah's sweet blessing we crossed the street and visited the
Washington D.C. temple and visitor's center. It was the perfect ending
to an already wonderful trip. Regardless of location, the evening prior
we of course held our BYU party and enjoyed dinner and dessert from
Maggiano's. Might I say, that was a perfect substitution. Two days was
far to quick of a trip. I guess we'll just have to return again soon! :)

Fair Fiddling
Kadyn had the awesome experience of fiddling at the fair this year. Her amazing teacher and their cute family, along with Kadyn and fellow students filled an entire hour of fiddling, singing, and dancing. Even Ryley, Thatcher, and Haley had the chance to be on stage and sing along with a few songs. They loved it! Afterwards we took a few minutes to enjoy the fair and exhibits. We're so grateful for Kadyn's teacher and that she could offer them such a fun and memorable opportunity.
(Kadyn is below the six in the white shirt. The first video is the first half of "Boiling Cabbages". The second video is the second half. Watch the end where they squish together and play each others violin. It's awesome.)

Cougar Games! (1 and 2)
Our first Cougar game of the year was awesome due to the fun get away that came with it. Actually winning would have merely been the cherry on top. A trip to Thomas Jefferson's home, fun restaurants, and being surrounded by hundreds of Cougar fans made for a wonderful weekend together. The second game was celebrated with our fun kiddos and lots of yummy treats. I was scheduled to attend a youth fireside for our church so we quickly enjoyed our party before I ran out the door. Heaven must have been smiling upon me because a rain delay kept the game at bay until a few minutes before my arrival home! How amazing is that! To top it off, our Cougs won.

Back To School
Summer's over and schedules are back. The kiddos got wonderful teachers
this year so it's bound to be a great success. Kadyn started 4th and
Thatcher began 2nd at Honeycutt Elementary. Ryley planned to attend the
local middle school but decided to venture forward with an online
academy this year. Along with that she attends Speech And Debate and a
Socratic Group with fellow home schooled friends. Two weeks in and we've
got happy kiddos who are learning a great deal. Can't ask for more than
that.
